Financial Education Through Speaking And Writing
Money is a taboo topic. It makes all of us uncomfortable to talk about it in detail. Unfortunately, people who talk about money are more likely to have it – so we have to do better.
Not only do we need to talk about money itself, we need to address the issues around it which are less obvious. These are the issues that create our financial results.
My primary means of financial education are writing and speaking. I write regularly on this site, and occasionally for other publications (online and offline). I also speak and conduct workshops for audiences of any size, from teenagers to young adults and their parents. I currently specialize in college financing and early career issues, but willingly share my views on just about anything that affects young adults and those that support them financially.
What I Can Do For You
I can provide original articles for your publication, and give permission to reprint the ones published here. My live appearances are FREE, but I request a small travel allowance for events more than 30 miles from the Houston city center. I honor requests from organizations and publications of any size.
Topics from previous events include:
The Cerebral Method - A Guide to Student Loan Repayment:- Through this presentation, listeners are challenged to rethink their natural inclinations towards debt. They are encouraged to embrace the big picture, and inspired to remain optimistic as they plan for the future.
An Attitude of Conscious Spending:- In this discussion, the audience is introduced to “conscious spending”, a term popularized by Ramit Sethi in I Will Teach You To Be Rich. They will learn why it is important to know what you spend, and how to start this new approach to money.
